The Amazonian chili pepper is an ancient plant used by indigenous cultures since time immemorial. It is an integral part of the cultural heritage of the Amazon region.

In this territory, there are more than 32 native varieties of chili peppers. It is one of the most important crops for the communities, due to its medicinal uses, symbolism, and the rituals it accompanies.

The project currently works with indigenous and farming families who produce Ají Yuquitania in the Colombian Amazon territories of Vaupés, Guaviare, and Amazonas. Each of these origins tells stories of the jungle and its inhabitants.
