MOXE FOODS – The taste of a unique ecosystem

At Moxe Foods, each chocolate bar is an invitation to discover the exceptional richness of Colombia, the most biodiverse country in the world per square kilometer. This territory is home to nearly 10% of the world's biodiversity, with more than 140,000 species of plants and animals spread across the majestic Andes, the lush Amazon rainforest, the Llanos plains, and the Caribbean and Pacific coasts.

Our range of chocolates pays tribute to this natural and cultural diversity by showcasing Colombian cocoa, grown in the heart of these unique ecosystems. Cacao (Theobroma cacao), native to the Amazon, is an integral part of this region's original biodiversity. It is still cultivated today with respect for nature, with local varieties boasting rich, complex aromas deeply rooted in their terroir.

Colombian biodiversity is also a source of inspiration for the brand. Did you know that Colombia is:

  • 1st country in the world for bird and orchid species,

  • 2nd for diversity of plants, amphibians, butterflies and freshwater fish,

  • And among the top 5 for palm trees, reptiles and mammals?

Some iconic species, such as the Andean condor, the jaguar, and the Amazon river dolphin, still live there. Protecting these ecosystems is essential, which is why Moxe Foods is committed to supporting responsible production that respects the environment and rural communities.
